Visit the islands

Oban is known as the gateway to the isles, with ferries travelling to many inner and outer hebridean isles. Many of these islands make great day trips and are only a short ferry journey away. Some can even be reached by a short flight from Oban Airport. We are happy to help you plan your trip or give suggestions, please just ask.

We are surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountains in the UK, two of which offer chairlift or gondola access

Glencoe Mountain

Offers skiiing in the winter and downhill biking in the summer. You can also take part in tubing here which is great fun for all the family. 

Nevis Range

The highest mountain range in the UK, just outside of Fort William offers great opportunities in both Summer and Winter. By taking the fully enclosed gondola to the top you can ski in the winter, downhill moutain bike in the Summer, or simply enjoy a coffee and take in the voes from the cafe.

 

Whisky

No trip to Scotland would be complete without a visit to a distillery to learn about our national drink. Our local distillery in Oban does fantastic tours, we would however advise booking in advance.
